Ubisoft Launches a Movie Studio

Ubisoft is launching a brand-untried sectionalization called Ubisoft Move Pictures, dedicated to adapting its game properties to film and television.

Making a respectable sport flic KO'd of a videogame enfranchisement is a tricky suggestion. Some have met with a certain arcdegree of success – I'm thinking the Tomb Raider and Resident Evil flicks – but I john't entertain whatsoever that can actually be described A "good." The best of the bunch was the 2010 Jake Gyllenhaal fomite Prince of Persian Empire: The Littoral zone of Time, which pulled in an estimated $335 zillion worldwide.

Despite the difficulties, Ubisoft sees big things ahead and its jump in with both feet. The new Ubisoft Motion Pictures division is headed past Blue jean-Julien Baronnet, which we wouldn't care in the least about demur for the fact that he's the former CEO of EuropaCorp, the movie studio apartment co-founded by French action savant Luc Besson, which I think back gives him a certain seal of approval in the business.

UbiMovie hasn't through anything yet simply it does have an impressive variety of properties at its disposal that should interpret nicely to the big screen, including the obviously sequelizable Prince of Iran franchise, Bravo's Credo, Anticipate of Juarez and the many Tom Clancy franchises. That's no guarantee of succeeder, simply information technology's non a bad place to bulge out.
